The design of the
underground hideout was inspired by the stories of Taliban
solders hiding in the caves of Tora Bora and the Viet Cong's
tunnels during the Vietnam War. I imagined the hideout
consisting of very narrow rocky tunnels opening up to a few
larger spaces. In the larger areas, the insurgents
would have weapon caches and spaces to plan, eat, and sleep.
