Half Life 2 Mod
Shantytown is
a single player 3D adventure game in which the player
controls Ellie, a young mechanic, on a journey through a
dilapidated vertical city of the post-apocalyptic future.
Accompanied by her pet robot, Ellie encounters many unusual
characters as she tries to discover why trash is raining
down on her house.
On this project,
the 17 member team had 9 level designers and one map.
So rather than doing the more traditional tasks of the
creating the level, I was in charge of multiple aspects of
the game's art. One of those tasks was prop layout for
two of the major spaces. In the above screenshot is
Crup's house where Ellie meets the old maintenance man.
I arranged the props within to reflect the life of an old
bachelor.
